Members of the NWAG go through extensive and continuous training to ensure they are some of the best on the VATSIM network. The NWAG is looking for highly motivated people who enjoy flying and Controlling on the simulating NETWORK.
Although the NWAG Basic Training Program teaches flight skills and is available to all new recruits, it is preferred that applicants have a basic knowledge of VFR & IFR flight rules as well ATC communications & procedures.
NWAG trainees typically complete the training program after 30 - 40 hours of ground school and flight time.
Our new concept lets the new recruit to train at his or her pace while keeping an active status. Questions and direction during training will fall under the direct supervision of our Training Director.
Training covers communications (ATC), airspace, weather, IFR & VFR flights, basic flight maneuvering, and more. Active Duty aircrews, on average, fly a minimum of 4 hours per month.
